Tessa Small-McPhee

Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN, BScPN)

Practicing in Brandon, Manitoba

Tessa completed her degree in Psychiatric Nursing in 2008. Before opening Home Counselling and Wellness, she spent over a decade working in the addictions and mental health field for a variety of organizations. She particularly enjoys helping people discover their strengths and how to capitalize on them.

Tessa has worked with people of all ages and has helped people living with addiction make lasting changes to their behaviours, take control of their lives, and find peace. Her mission is to help others find their own unique ways of leading productive and fulfilling lives.

Tess believes in good routines and restoration. She places great value on the relationship between counsellor and client and offers a space where honesty, authenticity, and humour are welcome.

Throughout her life, Tessa has naturally been a “helper” and has stayed true to her desire to assist others through various roles, including youth work, community-based programs, in-patient units, nursing homes, high schools, and, on a more personal level, as a mother to two children. She is experienced in addressing a variety of interpersonal and mental health concerns, which includes, but is not limited to

“There’s something so remarkable about seeing the beauty in another human being. It brings about more possibility for change than almost anything else that we can do. And out of this quality of presence comes healing."
