Kaila joined the Home Counselling and Wellness team in March of 2022. Originally from a rural community in western Manitoba, Kaila obtained her certification in Medical Office Administration with Assiniboine Community College in 2012.


She brings over 10 years’ of experience and expertise from working in various mental health settings. Throughout her career she has worked with populations of all ages and backgrounds. Kaila strives to create a welcoming, non-judgmental and comfortable atmosphere, in order to assist individuals in feeling safe and supported.

 

During her free time, Kaila enjoys gardening, caring for her collection of house plants, and spending time with her family. Over the years, her household has also devoted themselves to fostering and rescuing local animals in need. Which has resulted in her family growing to include more permanent members, or as Kaila refers to them "foster fails".

Teague Luhr

Communications Coordinator (He/Him)


Brandon, MB


Teague joined Home Counselling and Wellness in November 2022. He assists with digital media, internal processes, programming, and external networking. He has been a Brandon local since 2015, when he attended Brandon University for his post-secondary education in Sociology.


Since moving to the community, Teague has worked in various capacities for government, non-profit, and private organizations. In all of his roles, he has been a passionate advocate for causes relating to accessibility, inclusivity, mental health, addictions, and homelessness. He believes that supporting individuals requires a sense of community and that community starts one small engagement at a time.
